Something not working, a word you think we got wrong, or just a question? Write to us. Letter Verse is made by a small team at Venmara and we read every message.

What to tell us

For anything that looks like a bug, these few details save a round trip and get you an answer much faster:

• Your device and its operating system version (for example, iPhone 14, iOS 18).
• The app version, shown at the bottom of the game's Settings screen.
• Where in the game it happened: the mode, and what you were doing.
• A screenshot or screen recording, if you can catch it.

Common questions

The game says my word is not valid, but it is a real word

Letter Verse checks words against a fixed English dictionary, so it will not accept every proper noun, abbreviation, or regional spelling. If a word you are confident about is missing, send it to us. We review the dictionary regularly and add what belongs.

I cannot join a friend's match

Live matches need an internet connection on both devices, and a room code only works while the room is still open. Check that you have typed the code exactly, that your friend has not already started, and that you are both on the latest version of the app. If it still fails, tell us the room code and roughly when you tried.

I lost my progress

Your progress lives in the guest account created on your device the first time you opened the app. Uninstalling the app, resetting progress in Settings, or moving to a new phone starts a fresh account, and we cannot move progress between devices yet. If your progress disappeared without any of that happening, write to us. That is a bug and we want to see it.

How do I change my display name or my school?

Your display name is in the game's Settings. Your school is chosen on the Rep your school screen and holds until the end of the month you joined it: you can leave sooner, but you can only join a school again from the start of the next month. Names are filtered, so an offensive one will be rejected or removed.

Can I turn off the ads?

Letter Verse is free and the banner ads are what pay for it, so there is no way to remove them today. They are family-safe (G rated) and non-personalized. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what that means.

Is there a way to buy anything in the game?

No. Letter Verse has no purchases, no subscription, and no currency to buy. Everything in the game is free to play.

How do I delete my data?

Reset your progress from the game's Settings, or uninstall the app. Either one clears the guest account on your device. If you would like us to check what is associated with your account, email us and we will help.

Can I play offline?

Solo modes work without a connection. The daily challenge, leaderboards, and live matches with other players need you to be online.

Reporting a player or a safety concern

You can block or report a player from their profile or from a conversation in the app. You can also email info@venmara.com about an offensive name, message, or gift note, and we will act on it. Anything involving the safety of a child is treated as a priority. See our Child Safety page.
